General Description / Primary Purpose

This position works with all phases of weed and pest control in cultivated and natural areas on campus. Work includes manual, mechanical and chemical controls. Tasks include monitoring the campus for weeds and pests, identifying problems, choosing the best control method and implementing the control while following all appropriate safety guidelines and state regulations. This position is designated as a Tier 2 respondent for designated campus emergencies and events. In the event of a declared campus emergency, the position incumbent will make every effort to return to campus when directed.

5% Assist in all areas of Landscape and Grounds as needed Assist emergency preparation and response, and with other Physical Facilities tasks as directed by supervisor.

Required Qualifications

Must meet the requirements of Chapters 482 and 487, Florida Statutes and a high school diploma and one year of experience directly related to the job functions. Directly related college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
