Assistant Director of Advancement Communications
Kenyon College, a national liberal arts college an hour northeast of Columbus, Ohio, seeks a creative and self-motivated individual to join an award-winning advancement team. With an understanding of print and digital channels and a talent for tuning messages to target audiences, the Assistant Director of Advancement Communications helps manage and shape the voice of the College to a worldwide family of alumni, parents and donors.
The Assistant Director creates and implements the direct marketing plan and content strategy for Kenyon’s annual giving and alumni and parent engagement programs. The Assistant Director collaborates with internal partners to ensure direct marketing efforts meet fundraising targets, both in dollars and participation, and increase the meaningful engagement of alumni and parents.
The Assistant Director is well versed in the College’s core messages, creating engaging content that honors Kenyon’s culture and inspires action while ensuring brand integrity across print and digital platforms. The College looks to the Assistant Director to advise on messaging, channels and timing when communicating to alumni, parents and donors.
Excellent writing and organizational skills combined with a track record for using data to inform content, channel and production strategies. Experience in advancement or fundraising and the ability to motivate an audience to respond to communications. The flexibility to balance multiple demands while never compromising on brand integrity. A minimum of 3-5 years experience in communications, with direct experience in nonprofit or higher-education fundraising. Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, communications or other related field.
