POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Portfolio Management (70%)

  • Qualify, cultivate, solicit and steward a portfolio of 150 alumni major gift prospects with a goal to increase number of five-and-six figure gifts by creating meaningful engagement opportunities
  • Identify/qualify top 25 prospects and determine fundraising objectives and create meaningful engagement plans for each donor/prospect including alumni as well as parents
  • Work with Development Committee of the Board of Governors on outreach efforts and be able to solicit five-and-six Class gifts around Reunion
  • Create customized stewardship strategies including private tours/events for major donors in conjunction with Special Events team as well as the Office of Student Affairs
  • Identify planned gift opportunities and collaborate with the Planned Giving Officer to close
  • Meet expectations for annually articulated goals for gift revenue and solicitations

 Program Management (25%)

  • Work with Director of Alumni Relations to establish, build and maintain strong relationships with a wide range of alumni, both locally and throughout the country
  • Keep abreast of institutional funding priorities and strategies
  • Staff high level alumni donors and volunteers and educate them about philanthropy
  • Provide support in creating high-level donor events in partnership with Special Events, External Relations, and Stewardship teams i.e., giving society, donor appreciation events, etc.
  • Educate high level alumni volunteers about philanthropy and the institutional fundraising priorities

 Data Management & Other (5%)

  • Use technology effectively to research, organize, analyze and present data
  • Record thoughtful contact reports and deliver timely and effective fellow ups
  • Attend and support relevant Einstein social and academic events.

Other responsibilities as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree and 5-7 years Alumni Relations/Development experience

Track record of closing five-six-figure gifts

Experience in higher education or healthcare is strongly preferred

Master’s degree and additional certifications are preferred

Superior written and oral communication skills

Strong ability to work with and analyze data to inform strategies

Demonstrated skills in volunteer management

High competency in oral and written communications

A full-time faculty of some 2,000 conducts research, teaches, and delivers health care in every major biomedical specialty. The college has some 730 medical students, 193 Ph.D. students, 106 MD/Ph.D. students and 275 postdoctoral fellows.

The Associate Director of Alumni Giving will serve as a strategic fundraising partner who is an integral part of the growing Montefiore Einstein development team. The position will directly report to Director of Alumni Relations. Key responsibilities include effectively managing a portfolio of 125+ alumni by creating customized strategies for cultivation and solicitation of five-and six-figure gifts. The ideal candidate will be an effective is capable of building sustainable, long-term philanthropic relationships with alumni based on data while meeting annual fundraising goals and objectives.
