Job Description

The Manager - Grants & Contracts reports to the Executive Director of Sponsored Projects. They manage and oversee all financial aspects of the college's federal, state, local and private grants to ensure full compliance with all applicable cash management, financial reporting requirements, legal regulations and specifications of the post-award grant process. This individual will also provide assistance in developing and preparing grant budgets in the proposal/pre-award phase and will be expected to participate and foster an environment of collegiality, mutual respect and collaboration in student success initiatives of the College of Southern Nevada.

Required Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of 4 years of business area/function experience or a combination of equivalent education and experience.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Understanding of the Federal and State laws and regulations covering the application, managing, reporting and auditing of grants.
  • Knowledge of the grant program purpose.
  • Formulate, prepare, present and monitor grant budgets.
  • Collect, analyze, summarize and present financial data.
  • Interpret and apply governing laws, regulations and requirements.
  • Manage multiple tasks and requirements within specified time frames.
  • Ability to problem solve using general program, regulation, budget, accounting and personnel knowledge.
  • Knowledge and experience working with Microsoft Word and Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to engage and collaborate with students, staff, faculty, managers, and leaders.
