Executive Director, Enrollment Management and Student Financial Strategies

The University of Notre Dame, one of the nation's highly selective national research universities, is driven by its unique mission as a leading Catholic institution. The University seeks an innovative strategic thinker, who is energized by collaborative leadership to serve as our Executive Director, Enrollment Management and Student Financial Strategies. The position reports to the Associate Vice President for Undergraduate Enrollment.

Notre Dame is recognized for its unique ability to find, enroll, and inspire top academic students from across the nation and around the world, who seek a dynamic personalized formative college experience that guides them to a life of servant leadership. The University ranks first in the nation among all national research universities for its four- and five-year graduation rates. Traditionally, the yield rate of admitted students enrolling as first-year students also ranks among the top ten each year. Currently the University has identified the growth in financial aid endowment as its top goal for institutional advancement fundraising. The percentage of the endowment dedicated to financial aid already ranks among the top ten in the nation.

At Notre Dame we strive to be open and accessible to highly accomplished students from all socioeconomic backgrounds. We have committed to provide more than $150 million in financial aid for the 2019-20 academic year, an amount that has more than doubled in the past 10 years. More than half of our students receive financial aid, and we continue adding resources to increase student support and outreach.

The Executive Director is responsible for ensuring the effective execution of the enrollment management plan. The Executive Director coordinates resources within the Enrollment Division to support the development of the enrollment funnel from pre-prospects to the enrolled students' graduation from Notre Dame. The Executive Director coordinates the division's work and champions collective action. The Executive Director ensures that research-based practices are employed to ensure that financial aid resources meet and support enrollment goals and that all processes meet institutional audits, governmental requirements, and agency guidelines. Throughout, the Executive Director works to validate that students and families are served in the very best manner.

The Executive Director manages and refines scholarship funding models in collaboration with the Director of Financial Aid and the Director of Enrollment Strategy, Planning, and Research to design and track budgets, monitor actual and forecasted spending, and develop strategies that generate growth in the enrollment of lower- and middle-income students. The Executive Director collaborates with University Relations leaders and substantial donors to develop creative and meaningful scholarship endowments.

The Executive Director oversees the offices of Financial Aid and Student Accounts, which manage all financial aid resources, billings, and receipts for undergraduate, graduate, and professional students, as well as the Enrollment Division's Office of Shared Services, which provides project enhancement and technical support used by the Enrollment Division. The Executive Director collaborates with the Personnel and Operations Director to advance the professional development of managers and staff.

The Executive Director demonstrates strong communication and administrative skills; possesses strong problem solving, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills; practices and promotes integrity and ethical behavior; provides strong leadership skills to develop, encourage, motivate, and lead teams; and develops and maintains positive interpersonal relationships from entry-level staff to executives.

The Executive Director will be supported and encouraged to be an active national leader in the areas of financial aid scholarships, access to college, and college affordability as well as in the admissions recruitment and selection process.

Qualified candidates will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in leadership roles related to financial aid, admissions, and/or enrollment management, and they will have been awarded a Master's degree or a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled. Priority consideration will be given to completed applications received by August 23, 2019. Candidates should provide as two separate documents a resume and a letter of application that addresses the responsibilities and requirements described in the leadership profile. Submit the application and supporting materials electronically via the University's ND.jobs website, http://jobs.nd.edu/
