Stanford University is seeking a Program Manager for the Vice Provost and Dean of Research Office (VPDoR) to provide Academic Staff-Research (AS-R) program oversight, support and management to include planning, implementation, auditing, and reporting to meet established deadlines. The AS-R program includes 800+ exempt employees hired to work on Stanford research activities holding an academic appointment as Academic Staff-Research. The Program Manager acts on behalf of the Vice Provost and Dean of Research for all AS-R matters to include reviewing and approving AS-R appointments for all Stanford University units and interacting with university IT for support of the related appointments and reporting systems. The incumbent will serve as a resource to schools and key stakeholders on AS-R policies, procedures, and practices. The Program Manager will also provide human resources services for assigned VPDoR client units. This position reports to the VPDoR Director of Faculty and Academic Affairs with dotted line reporting to the VPDoR Director of HR.
The Office of the Vice Provost and Dean of Research (VPDoR) is directed by the Vice Provost and Dean of Research and oversees Stanford University's research and research policies and inter-disciplinary programs. The VPDoR office provides oversight for 20 independent labs, institutes and centers, including the physical and biological sciences, engineering, the social sciences and the humanities disciplines, three shared equipment facilities and the offices of Technology Licensing, Environmental Health and Safety, Research Compliance, International Affairs, and Science Outreach.

Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.

Ability to quickly learn and utilize new computer programs.
