We have an opening for dual credit Electronics faculty beginning with the Fall 2019 semester. Qualified applicants will currently be employed at Glenbrook South High school District as a teacher.



Job Description:


Oakton has an opening beginning with the Fall 2019 semester for dual credit Electronics faculty to teach Introduction to Electronics.


Introduction to Electronics introduces the electronics curriculum with hands on labs and simulations. Topics range from Ohm's Law to semiconductor circuits, and include series and parallel circuits, capacitors, inductors, and magnetics, with a focus on analog and digital circuits.



Requirements:


A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering Technology, or a related science or computer technology, and a minimum of one year of electronics work experience are required. Also required is current teacher employment with the Glenbrook South School district.


Prior post-secondary teaching or training experience in a hands on laboratory environment. a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology or Computer Technology, and a minimum of 5 years of industrial or technical experience, strong communication and presentation skills are preferred.

Part-time faculty are hired on a semester-by-semester basis. A reasonable effort is made to assure the assignment of courses to more senior part-time faculty who are fully qualified by virtue of their education, training, work experience as related to current technology and pedagogical techniques, and who have had a history of successful performance at Oakton Community College.

All assignments are conditioned on sufficient enrollment. Once a course starts, the part time faculty member is expected to complete the course.
