The Chemistry and Biochemistry Department of Nazareth College of Rochester, New York, invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin August 2020. The department seeks candidates committed to undergraduate teaching excellence at a comprehensive institution that supports both liberal arts curricula and professional programs. Candidates should have a Ph.D. or DCLS in Clinical Laboratory Science, Microbiology, or a closely related field and demonstrated experience educating diverse populations of students.

The Nazareth College Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry is located in Peckham Hall, a 74,000 square foot facility for integrated math and science that was recently ranked 20th for Best Science Lab Facilities by the Princeton Review. Peckham Hall features state-of-the-art laboratories and facilities in addition to various updated instrumentation available for both research and teaching usage.

The successful candidate will teach didactic and laboratory courses in microbiology. Teaching responsibilities may also include contributions to other clinical laboratory science courses, upper-level courses including electives in their area of expertise, and courses in the college core curriculum. Additional duties will include coordination of clinical rotations, engagement in scholarly/research activities, and participating in College service.

Required Education: Ph.D. or DLCS in Clinical Laboratory Science, Microbiology, or related field; ABD will be considered. Current MLS certification with ASCP or similar credential
