Job Description:

The Economics Department at the University of Massachusetts Amherst invites applications for a tenure-system appointment at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor of Economics of the Environment or Political Economy of the Environment.

Applicants wishing to be considered for more than one position in the Economics Department must apply for each position separately. Under exceptional circumstances, candidates at other ranks may receive consideration.

The Economics faculty at UMass Amherst work in diverse areas from both heterodox and mainstream approaches. The faculty study economic theory and applied economics related to multiple dimensions of human well-being and social welfare; how economic opportunities are generated and distributed in society; and the interplay between power and institutions on the one hand and economic behavior and the performance of the economy on the other hand.

Requirements:

  • A completed Ph.D. in Economics or a related field.
  • Candidates will be judged on their scholarly research as well as teaching.
  • Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
