Assistant/Associate Professor/Professor, School of Nursing


The School of Nursing at the MGHInstitute of Health Professions invites applications and nominations for afull-time faculty position with expertise in the area of Quality Improvementand Safety to team-teach in our Post-Master’s DNP Program and serve as facultyadvisor and DNP Project mentor. The DNP has an integrated curriculum so allfaculty participate in all learning activities and knowledge application ofcurriculum that support the attainment of the AACN Essentials of DoctoralPractice, the MGHIHP SON program outcomes, and the MGHIHP institutionaloutcomes.


Successful candidates will have the opportunity to primarily teachtheir area of expertise in our Doctor of Nursing Practice Program. We areinterested in hiring dynamic faculty who have a strong interest in educationalexcellence and innovation to prepare nurses for the local, regional, andnational workforce with interprofessional and global competencies. Faculty areexpected to be actively engaged in the scholarship of discovery, teaching and learningor practice/application.

Serving over 500 students with 44full-time faculty, SON offers an accelerated BSN program, an entry-level andpost-professional Master of Science in Nursing, a Certificate of AdvancedStudy, and the Doctor of Nursing Practice, one of the first DNP programs in thecountry.


The SON faculty includesoutstanding educators and researchers in nursing. Many are also recognizednationally and internationally for their clinical and scholarly excellence.


The Master of Science in Nursing and the Doctor of Nursing Practiceprograms attained their highest rankings ever in the U. S. News &World Report 2018 Best Graduate Schools list. The three-yeardirect-entry master’s program, in which students are prepared to become nursepractitioners upon graduation, is tied for 63rd– third in Greater Boston, fourth in Massachusetts, and sixth in New England. Thepost-professional doctorate, the profession’s terminal clinical degree, is tied for 50th – first in Greater Boston, second inMassachusetts, and third in New England.





QualificationsSuccessfulcandidates will be eligible for licensure in Massachusetts, hold at least onegraduate degree in nursing in the area of specialization required for thefaculty appointment, and an earned doctorate in nursing or a relateddiscipline. Current certification in any of the NP tracks or as a nurseexecutive is required.  Additionally,candidates must possess a commitment to scholarship appropriate with rank andmust demonstrate excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills. Priorleadership or administrative experience is preferred.
