Lab Assistant Job Number Full/Part Time Schedule Salary 201907093961 Full Time 8AM - 5PM $44,182 - $52,576 Position Information Dr. Aerika Brittian Loyd in the Department of Psychology at the University of California, Riverside is seeking a FT Research Technician (i.e., lab manager/coordinator) beginning September or October 2019.

The initial appointment would be for one year, with the possibility to extend for an additional year based on performance and continued funding. The lab manager/research technician will work under the supervision of the PI to set up a new lab at UCR, and manage new and existing studies exploring how intersections of race, ethnicity, gender, and identity inform health and development for youth and young adults of color (e.g., Black/African American and Latinx/Hispanic). This is an excellent position for individuals who wish to pursue graduate work in developmental, social, and/or clinical psychology, as well as human development and family studies or education. If interested, they would also have an opportunity to co-author conference posters and/or publications that will be submitted to peer-reviewed scholarly journals.

Minimum Requirements 1. Graduation from high school or a General Education Diploma and three years of laboratory experience or two years of college including courses in the natural, physical or social sciences and two years of laboratory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience and knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.

2. Must have strong computer skills (e.g., Excel, Word, Powerpoint) and familiarity with statistical software packages (e.g., SPSS).

3. Possess outstanding organizational, time-management, interpersonal, and communication skills.

4. Ability to interact professionally and respectfully with participants and community members.

5. Ability to travel reliably to schools and community organizations.

Preferred Qualifications 1. Bachelor's degree in psychology, human development, or a related discipline is highly preferred.

2. Experience with racial and/or ethnic minority youth/families or community-based research.

3. Ability to work on assigned tasks independently and collaboratively.

4. Programming skills in Qualtrics.
