Provides clerical and administrative support to a departmental office or program.Information for This Posting Only

Acts as a Proctor/Test Administrator for assessment and instructional examinations in the Testing Center.Administers exams by verifying candidates' identity; provides test instructions; distributes test materials; monitors area; collects test materials at the end of the testing period; files completed exam; reports academic dishonesty cases to supervisor.Confirms testing instructions, materials allowed, deadlines dates, and disposition of completed exams with the instructor, counts and reviews exams for proper format and advises instructors of needed corrections; records date the test are received.Responds to faculty and staff to ensure timely and accurate administration of exams; makes any changes to deadlines as requested.Prepares test instruments by entering test into the database; files in the appropriate file cabinet.Provides proctoring services including obtaining exam materials, administering and monitoring exams, including computer-based exams, exam delivery, and ensuring secure storage of exam materials.Provides information to students, community members, and agents of other education institutions regarding Test Center services; coordinates with instructors to receive, administer, and return exams.Exhibits proficiency in troubleshooting issues in computer-based examinations and examination software and hardware.Description of Duties and TasksEssential duties and responsibilities include the following.   • Performs office duties in support of faculty, staff, and/or student efforts, including word processing, data entry, maintaining files, processing mail, and duplication.
  • Gathers, compiles, and enters data, producing routine reports and documents.
  • Produces handouts, fliers, newsletters, brochures, manuals, and other documents.
  • Answers the telephone, routes calls, or takes messages; responds to and/or directs inquiries in person or on the telephone.
  • May input budget figures, prepares requisitions, logs and tracks expenditures, takes payments, or issues invoices or bills.
  • Maintains tracking systems and logs.
  • Operates office equipment such as copiers and fax machines.
  • Additional Job Specific Duties

    Assists current and prospective students by providing information on student services processes including admissions, enrollment, financial aid, assessment or learning labs.Responds to questions and inquiries in person, by telephone, or via email.Schedules appointments and assists with check in/check out processes for assessments, learning labs, new student orientations, and other services with advisors, counselors, and other staff.Monitors and screens student records for status information including holds, academic standings, and exceeding course loads.Gathers and enters data, maintains, and updates student information database.Prepares, publicizes, and schedules students for workshops and orientations.Maintains bulletin boards, brochure racks, and other information areas with transfer guides, career information, enrollment literature, and assessment study guides.Provides clerical support for various programs and functions including college outreach and recruitment programs, advising, counseling, assessment and learning labs.May serve in a variety of areas and may focus on specific rules, government regulations, and documentation specific to that area such as veteran affairs, assessment, or special populations.May oversee the work of hourly employees or work study students.May monitor and screen student lab equipment and student room check outs including maintaining a tracking system and logs.KnowledgeMust possess required knowledge and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.

    Work is routinely performed in a standard office or similar environment. Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing, and pulling. Occasional lifting of objects up to 10 pounds.Safety
