Chemistry Lab Assistant

The Chemistry Lab Assistant is a part-time, 19 hour-or-less per week position with an hourly pay rate of $11.61/hour. Work schedule is dependent upon departmental needs and employee's availability but hours worked will be between 8 AM-5 PM, Monday thru Friday. Minimalsupervision will be provided. Must beable to work independently and work well with other chemistry staff,instructors and students.

Essential Job Functions

Preparation of solutions of a specific concentration.

Coordination of chemicals, supplies and equipment for several chemistry labs.

Cleaning and maintenance checks of equipment.

Conducting periodic chemical inventories.

Proper disposal of chemical waste.

Packaging of on-line chemical supplies.

Glassware and lab clean-up.

Safety compliance checks.

Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

Associate's degree in Chemistry or a related field.

Working knowledge of chemistry lab procedures.

Knowledge of lab safety practices.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related field.
• Science lab experience.
