Job Description Summary

Students will strive to educate the University community on the importance of private support and keep alumni, parents and friends connected to the University of La Verne via telephone conversations. Students will assist in securing philanthropic funds for the University of La Verne to enhance the quality of education for students. Students will be expected to demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills, insightful knowledge of the institution, an ability to accept direction, and a strong desire to achieve goals. They will also adhere to the code of confidentiality as determined by the University and the University Advancement department.

Specific Duties

To arrive for scheduled work hours promptly. Responsible for calling alumni, parents and friends of the institution to provide institutional updates, stewarding fundraising efforts and updating contact information. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Students will be expected to demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills, insightful knowledge of the University, an ability to accept direction and a strong desire to achieve goals. Strong calling skills and available to work a minimum of three (3) shifts per week.

Employees are eligible for the following benefits:

One hour of Paid Sick Leave for every 30 hours worked, with a maximum accrual of 24 hours of Paid Sick Leave per year and capped at 48 hours.

University of La Verne Defined Contribution Retirement Plan – can contribute employee voluntary contributions, excluding wages derived from federal work study funds.

In accordance with the Affordable Care Act (ACA), employees who work an average of 30 or more hours per week, will be eligible for medical coverage through the University of La Verne.

Covered under the University of La Verne Workers Compensation Insurance.

    The University of La Verne is a 124 year old, independent, comprehensive, doctoral granting institution in southern California with an emphasis on research and publication.
