The Academic Enhancement Center's part-time tutors provide academic tutorial support to currently enrolled GGC students. Part-time tutors engage in student success initiatives, such as study skills workshops, professional development training, and promotional events. Part-time tutors provide academic support to ensure students develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to become independent learners.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Provide face-to-face tutorial assistance in the AEC
- Engage in the TIC-TAC-TOE tutoring program
- Assist with AEC promotional events
- Participate in professional development trainings
- Engage in AEC student flow management procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Prior tutoring, teaching, coaching or mentoring experience
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must be flexible to attend and/or present at offsite or on-campus workshops or professional development opportunities to enhance the program’s efficiency
- Must be able to attend the summer tutor training and other required meetings
- Ability to work well with their peers and/or other students within the GGC community, either in the AEC or at other locations across campus
- Must be able to handle confidential information
- Must be able to maintain a regular weekly schedule throughout the semester
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree
- Tutoring/teaching experience in higher education
- Experience working with underprepared students from diverse backgrounds

Physical Requirements
Position may require local travel. Ability to lift and carry files and materials. Ability to move from one office to another office on campus. Adequate vision, hearing and manual dexterity to interact with people in person, on the phone and in writing. Applicant must be able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations.
