Duties Performed in the Usual Course of the Job

The School of Teaching and Learning prepares EC-6, 4-8 and secondary teacher candidates for initial certification in various fields.
This faculty member will join the existing undergraduate team to prepare elementary teacher candidates to be successful in their classroom and field setting.
Teaching science methods courses, supervising field experience, conducting quality research related to the improvement of science teaching and learning. May also teach related graduate course work.
Seeking external funding and provide service to the school, college, and university are expected.
Maintain a scholarly productivity agenda.
Will participate fully in departmental, college and university meetings and committees.

Educational Requirements for the Position

Doctorate in science education or related field.

Experience Required for the Position

Rank-appropriate record of scholarship, grant writing, and grant-funded research.
At least 3-5 years of successful science teaching experience in elementary, intermediate, or middle public school.
State certified to teach in public schools. Experience working with teachers and/or pre-service teachers.
The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
Experience with school-university partnerships focused in teacher preparation and teacher development.

Other Requirements for the Position

Experience effectively using multimedia modes of instruction including Internet and distance learning technologies and tools. Other duties as assigned.
The position will begin spring 2020.
