This is a full time position as Instructor in the Department of Educational Studies, Leadership and Counseling to begin January 2020.

Teach undergraduate and graduate level coursework in school library media, information studies, technology, and curriculum design. Teaching modes include web-based distance education and face-to-face (on campus and at regional campuses). Maintain an active role in advising undergraduate and graduate students and supervising practicum and other field experiences at K-12 placements. Engagement in service, inclusive of collaboration with local school districts and community agencies, is expected. This instructor position is expected to actively pursue involvement in appropriate professional organizations at the regional, state, and national levels. Regional travel is required.

Minimum Education Requirements

Certification in School Library Media or Library and Information Science with graduate coursework in school library media from an accredited university.

Minimum Experience and Skill Requirements

At least 5 years, full-time teaching experience in K-12 public schools as a school librarian.

Preferred Education and/or Experience Qualifications

Successful experience related to meeting the academic or professional development needs of education students or public school teachers. Preferred experience in direct observation of teaching and evaluation of performance in a clinical setting. Preferred experience in developing technology plan in a k-12 school setting. Other experience in education field may include k-12 public instructional or curriculum design, school lesson planning, student teacher observation and feedback, and communication with distinct personnel and faculty. Preferred active involvement in the American Association of School Librarians.
