Chief Nursing Officer

Position Summary

The Chief Nursing Officer position is responsible and accountable for the delivery of all clinical operations for MSU HealthTeam in coordination with Radiology, Physical Therapy, and Pharmacy leadership. The Chief Nursing Officer has administrative responsibility for budget, utilization management, employee clinical training, and patient experience for HealthTeam clinic operations with 28 locations of care in a multi-discipline medical office clinic system.

Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing one or two years of post-bachelor degree work such as a Bachelors in Nursing or Public Health; five to eight years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in professional nursing and ambulatory care, management, financial administration and supervision; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The position also requires possession of a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan.

Desired Qualifications

BSN Required; Master's Degree in business, health administration or other related field required. Minimum 7 years of senior nursing leadership experience in outpatient medical practice management system or acute care setting. Previous CNO experience preferred. Experience with clinical revenue cycle; experience with supporting provider productivity management. Hematology/Oncology clinic management experience.

Work Hours

Work hours are typically Monday - Friday with early morning/evening meetings; may include weekends as necessary to manage a 7-day per week clinical operation.

Summary of Health Risks

Exposure to human blood, serum, tissue and other body fluids; and materials covered under Universal Precautions; TB risk or work within three (3) feet of patients in a health care setting; wear a respirator. Compliance with Influenza policy.
