Graduate Assistantship Half Time (10 Hours a week)

The EMU Office of Research Development and Administration serves and supports faculty and staff engaged in sponsored activities that promote basic and applied research, scholarship, artistic expression public service, teaching, and learning. ORDA supports research and its development by providing resources, workshops, and technical assistance to faculty, including: finding funding opportunities, managing the University's research compliance programs, assisting in the development and submission of grant proposals, managing the University's internal awards programs, and assisting with the post-award management of funded projects.

The Graduate Assistants for Grant Management Assistant will perform multiple duties in supporting post-award management by assisting the Post-Award Manager.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

The primary duties will include assisting the Post-Award Manager for ORDA:
  • Assure proper expense allocation for grant expenses and invoice processing
  • Scheduling of Grant Financial Summary reports
  • Prepare grant related Personnel Action Forms for Faculty, Staff, and Students
  • Analyze Labor Distribution Reports for accuracy
  • Perform Grant Fund analysis as needed


Qualifications

Programs of study for consideration include accounting, business administration, business analytics, finance, mathematics, and other programs with a strong tradition of spreadsheet data analysis.

For a full-time GA appointment, the University provides a tuition scholarship for up to 18 credit hours in each academic year (September 1 to August 31) of the assistantship.

For graduate assistants who are appointed to part-time positions and for GAs who begin employment after the start of the semester, the number of credit hours covered by the award will be prorated.
