Position Summary:
This position, as a part of the MIIS student experience team, is responsible for student recruitment activities in East Coast markets and achieving institutional enrollment objectives and managing DC-based partnerships and employer events. Recruiting activities include, but are not limited to, developing recruiting plans for programs or regions, telephone and email correspondence with prospective students, referral generation, participation in education expos, advising prospective students and applicants, and yield management. Partnership and employer activities include, but are not limited to, managing on-site preparation for career-week, hosting employer events and events for current students. This is a full-time regular staff position based in the Washington, DC office.

Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
  • Develop and manage East Coast recruitment strategy, represent Institute with institutional partners, employers, and other external audiences, primarily on the East Coast. This may include presentations at on-campus events, fairs, receptions, public forums and tours.
  • Leverage existing and cultivate new recruiting relationships with employers and partners in the Washington D.C. area. This includes managing spring career week activities in the DC office.
  • With approval from department head, manage IEM practicum student including hiring, training, setting priorities, and monitoring and evaluating performance.
    Enrollment Customer Relationship Management
  • Manage strategy and operations budget for regional events and activities.
  • Manage all conversion activities for assigned prospects throughout the enrollment cycle and admissions process (initial contact, enrollment advisement meetings, telephone and email follow-up, online chats, targeted pushes, hospitality weekends, etc.) towards deadlines.
  • Manage and host regular events for DC prospective students.
  • Follow the MIIS Recruitment guidelines to insure outstanding service to all prospective students, including careful tracking of all initial lead sources.
  • Build out a recruitment network with DC-based alumni to generate leads and support students in the enrollment process.
  • Active involvement in marketing planning process, segmenting prospective leads in promotional events, providing support for all areas of the plan including strategy, volume, best practice sharing, and application projections.
  • Initiate and maintain productive working relationships with other departments who are influential to prospective student application decisions.
  • Coordinate with Admissions staff to ensure seamless transition from prospective student to applicant status.
    Employer and Partner Relations
  • Identify, build and nurture strategic recruiting relationships with organizations that can support lead generation, student experience, and or student employment.
  • Assist with hosting annual partner and employer lunch and assist with annual DC career exploration week.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key community entities within the larger DC area to help facilitate opportunities for students and develop new resources and programs.
    Strengthen Use of DC Resources
  • Coordinate regional recruiting activities with Schools Abroad and Language Schools.
  • Work with the Senior Director of Institutional Partnerships to strengthen existing DC-based partnerships and create new ones.
  • Work with the Director of Marketing to inform marketing initiatives relevant to the East Coast markets.

    General Responsibilities:
  • Travel (domestic and international) up to 25%
  • Manage or assist on projects as assigned.
  • erve on institutional task force committees as assigned.

    Qualifications
    Education:
    BA in Business Administration or other relevant field of study; graduate degree preferred.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to read and develop written correspondence and good oral communication with prospective students.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Establish and maintain professional and cooperative relationships with students, staff, faculty, and external contacts.
  • Self-starter - ability to work independently as well as on a team.
  • Ability to develop and deliver presentations to individuals and groups during marketing and recruitment events and/or tours.
  • Strong interpersonal / communication skills, working knowledge of admission processes a plus. Relationship based sales experience preferred. Proficiency with PC applications such as MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint. Experience with contact management systems (such as SalesForce) a plus. Willing to travel and work occasional weekends. Team player, assertive, adaptable, professional.
  • Valid driver's license.

    Experience:
    2 years of experience in higher education and / or marketing and sales-related field; and/or an MA in a related field.

    While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell. The employee is frequently required to lift up to 10 pounds. The vision requirements include: close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus.
