Assistant Director, Center for Financial Markets & Policy - McDonough School of Business

McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University seeks an organized and high functioning Assistant Director. S/he provides administrative and program support to the Director of the Georgetown Center for Financial Markets and Policy. Reporting to the Director at the Georgetown Center for Financial Markets and Policy, the Assistant Director has duties that include but are not limited to:
  • Oversees program and event planning, marketing and communications, website and social media, financial management, and the overall day-to-day operation of the Center.
  • Coordinates with other departments within the McDonough School of Business.
  • Manages administrative tasks, including managing events and seminars, travel/logistics, expense reimbursements, and maintaining the schedule/calendar.
  • Coordinates activities and supervise student assistants, providing assistance with teaching and research activities for finance faculty as needed.
  • Interacts with the Office of the Dean, Office of Marketing and Communications, Academic Directors, faculty at MSB, and members of the University staff (Accounts Payable, Payroll, Advancement, UIS), outside speakers, sponsors, and advisors to the Center.
  • Maintains and updates the Center's webpage, Twitter, and Facebook accounts.
  • Develops and maintains databases, completing financial forms and submitting for processing, including reimbursement forms, expense authorization, and interdepartmental invoices.
  • Prepares and monitors the Center's budget, preparing reconciliation and year-end closing.
  • Researches and teaches related support activities for the Director and other finance faculty as needed.

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or public policy or related area
  • 1-3 years of relevant/professional experience, preferably in higher education
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite software, social media, and e-mail
  • Website maintenance, database management helpful
