Food Truck Manager/Chef/Catering Specialist

Position Information:
  • Position Purpose Under the direct supervision of the Program Manager of Hospitality, the Food Truck Manager/ Chef will oversee all food truck activities including but not limited to ordering, menu and recipe development, food preparation, and staffing and supervision. In addition to these duties, the Manager will plan, operate and supervise catering events for the College, including for events held on- and off-campus. Annual salary for this position is $40,000.
  • Duties and Responsibilities
    • Oversee day to day operations of the food truck, including team management and supervision
    • Maintain required records including food production, inventory, income/expense and meal counts while working within and with the academic department at Hocking College and the Department of Food and Beverage
    • Train and manage kitchen personnel and supervise/coordinate all related culinary activities
    • Supervise and work all food truck operations including but not limited to food production, cash handling, guest orders and interaction, quality control and proper sanitation procedures
    • Coordinate, plan, and schedule Food Truck and Catering Events, both on- and off- campus
    • Run Front and BOH catering and banquet events with Chef Alfonso, including organizing room FOH set-up, and organizing food production schedule and staffing.
    • Ensure compliance with all Health Department and ODA regulations and food safety standards
    • Ensure compliance with all municipal regulations
    • Direct the cleaning and maintenance of the food truck and equipment
    • Work directly with the Marketing Department to advertise and promote the food truck, catering and banquet, and all other Hospitality programs at Hocking College
    • Attend weekly Food and Beverage meetings to review upcoming events, guest counts, set up and special requests with Executive Director of Food and Beverage
    • Instruct Catering Lab each semester and be responsible for monitoring student progress, attendance, and grades
    • Work with Hocking College Culinary and Hospitality student and instructors to staff events
    • Assist in development, planning and implementation of kitchen operations
    • Assist with special projects and reports as required


    Position Requirements:
  • Qualifications - Education, Experience, and Skills
    • Associate Degree or CEC, CCE, or CMC or Bachelor in Culinary, Baking or Hospitality Management or Bachelors
    • One year of food truck experienced, 2 years of management experience in the restaurant industry preferred
    • Must have knowledge of quantity production, staffing, inventory, cost analysis, ordering, commissary operations
    • Must have current Level II ServSafe Manager Certificate
    • Must be proficient in Word, Excel, and POS System
    • Communicate well with Faculty, Staff and Students
    • Must have a high attention to detail, clear thinker, analytical and resolves problems using good judgment
    • Perform job functions to standards under pressure;
    • Enforce Hocking College standards, policies and procedures
