Job Summary
The candidatewill participate in an active cybersecurity research program at the IoTand cybersecurity proof of concept Lab center in the ComputerEngineering program at USM led by Drs. Dawoud, Sherif, and Amsaad.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Conducting fundamental research in hardware and systems security, cyber-physical system security, network security, and privacy, machine learning for cybersecurity, and IoT and cloud computing security.
- Publishing in leading conferences and journals, participation in the proposal development, and supervision of graduate students.
- Performsbasic or applied research of a limited scope, primarily using existing theoriesand methods.
- Maintainsthe laboratory equipment and other related facilities
- Attendingdomestic and international conferences as required by the ongoing research
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- This position is ideally suited for a recent Ph.D. graduate who plans to pursue future research career. A completed Ph.D. degree in ECE or CS is required by the time of the appointment.
- Solid background in hardware and hardware security, network security and privacy, autonomous systems (cars, crafts, drones, etc.), applied cryptography, Trojan detections and prevention techniques (hardware and software-based Trojans), machine and deep leaning, protocols, and algorithms, is highly desirable.
- Must be able to work under the supervision of a senior scholar
- One or more years of postdoctoral research experience in high ranking, prestigious universities
- Outstanding publication record in top conferences and journals
- Ability to write/conduct in English language skills
Strongexperience with VHDL/Verilog hardware language
Strong Experience in designing systems ordevices using FPGAs
Preferred Qualifications Prior graduate student advising experience. Prior teaching experience related courses to the topics ofinterest to undergrad-grad student. About The University of Southern Mississippi
