Duties/Responsibilities:Greenhouse work includes, but is not limited to, helping to plant; maintain plants; maintain insect colonies; cleaning pots, trays, and cages.

Position Summary:Work involves about 75% greenhouse work and 25% lab. Greenhouse work includes but is not limited to helping to plant and maintain plants as well as sampling greenhouse trials for insets and various plants measurements; cleaning pots, trays and cages used for research. Lab work includes but is not limited to nucleic acid extraction from insects and plants, and various other measurements. Some processing of samples may be required. Data entry in Excel spreadsheets also is expected. Work will be year round.
Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in Position:High school or equivalent combination of education and work experience in the lab and greenhouse or a related area. Other training will be provided as appropriate.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies :Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Work with or without supervision. Use Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
Physical Demands:Bend and lift at least 30 pounds, work in a greenhouse and/or laboratory for multiple hours a day.
