The Lead Teacher must be able to understand State Standards, Licensing and National Accreditation planning and classroom implementation. Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field required, Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education preferred. Minimum of two years' experience in the direct care of young children ages 2-5 years required; knowledge of state licensing regulations and standards as well as National Association for the Education of Young Children requirements required; good communication skills, both in writing and speaking required. PSC certification preferred but not required. Testing Requirements:Illustrative Examples of Work: Identifies and works with the cognitive, social, emotional and physical developmental patterns of young children; responsible for the overall curriculum, room arrangement, curriculum and lesson planning for classroom; exercises maturity and good judgment needed in emergency situations; maintains children's records, observes and evaluates the planning of individualized developmentally appropriate practices, and plans daily activities for each child on an ongoing basis; oversees the maintenance of classroom and playground equipment to ensure proper operation and safety for children.
