Ohlone College is seeking a pool of qualified applicants for temporary part-time teaching assignments. These positions are filled on an as-needed basis and are on-going recruitments. Assignments may include day, evening and weekend courses and may be in-person, online or hybrid.
As staffing needs arise, our Division Deans will review the part-time faculty pools and contact applicants for interviews. There are times that part-time faculty are needed to fill last minute vacancies; therefore, departments are better able to communicate their teaching needs at the time of interviews.
Applicants must meet the minimum academic requirements listed in order to be considered for the pool of qualified candidates. Applicants that meet the minimum requirements are not automatically accepted to teach at Ohlone. As this application is for a pool of applicants, it may take time before you are contacted.

This is a part-time, faculty teaching position reporting to the Dean of Health Sciences.

Ability to teach part-time CLINICAL Pediatric Nursing assignments that are available in the Nursing Department.

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties for this position include the standard instructional responsibilities for one or more classes in the Nursing Department: teaching, grading, meeting with students (formal office hours are not required), class roster management and timely submission of grades.

Desirable Qualifications

Teaching experience at the community college level desired but not required.

Minimum Qualifications

A Master’s or higher degree from an accredited college or university which includes course work in nursing, education, or administration. (BRN requirement)
A Master’s degree in Health Education or Health Science (Chancellor’s office requirement) and completion of at least one (1) year experience teaching courses related to registered nursing
completion of a post-baccalaureate course which includes PRACTICE IN TEACHING REGISTEREDNURSING. (BRN requirement)
A Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college which shall include courses in nursing, or in a natural behavioral or social science relevant to nursing practice;

Minimum or equivalent of one year continuous, full time registered nurse experience within the past five years providing direct patient care in the pediatric clinical setting.

A current, valid license as a Registered Nurse in the State of California or eligibility for license and BRN faculty approval.
