The Administrative Coordinator performs a variety of administrative duties independently and collaboratively; organizes and facilitates special events, programs and meetings and provides administrative support to department faculty.

Minimum Qualifications

•High school diploma or equivalent
•5 years of related experience or relevant combination of experience, education and/or training

Preferred Qualifications

•Associate’s degree

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

•Proficient with MS Office Suite or similar word processing, spreadsheet, presentation development program, email and database applications.
•Ability to work with sensitive information in a confidential and diplomatic manner
•Ability to prioritize, plan, and organize
•Ability to work independently without constant supervision
•Ability to adapt to change quickly
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•Demonstrated experience in providing web-based content and social media related sites
•Ability to interact with others in a professional and effective manner
•Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time
•Ability to anticipate and solve problems
•Ability to work independently and as part of a team
•Ability to work with a wide range of diverse internal and external constituencies

The Administrative Coordinator performs a variety of administrative duties independently and collaboratively with the Department Head and Associate Head of the department. This position will organize and facilitate special events, programs and meetings and provide administrative support to department faculty. There are two openings: One (1) in the Department of Biological Sciences and One (1) in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences.
