Job Description Summary

Job Description

This position reports to the Business Manager for Wharton External Affairs. The primary focus for this position will be to execute business, financial and personnel operations for a staff of over 100 individuals in collaboration with the Business Manager. This includes updating current office operation practices to help streamline training of staff and special projects as needed. This position is responsible for support and coordination of the payroll and Human Resource functions and programs within Wharton External Affairs. The incumbent will assist with developing and maintaining an onboarding program, manage payroll and various HR functions for the department. The incumbent will assist the business operations team with processing vendor payments, employee reimbursements and approving expense reports in Concur. This position requires incumbent to work under limited supervision, exercise judgment, set priorities and handle multiple projects simultaneously, as well as exhibit sensitivity in the handling of confidential materials.

Qualifications:

* BA/BS and 2 – 3 years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced, ever-changing, dynamic University environment.
* Ability to work extended hours during peak times of the year.
* Demonstrated experience of adaptability; shifting priorities, updating assignments, changes in responsibilities, etc. as needed.
* Must have strong interpersonal skills, ability to work under pressure individually and as part of a team.
