The University of South Carolina, College of Nursing (CON) is seeking a qualified candidate eligible for the rank of Clinical Assistant, Clinical Associate, or Clinical Professor to fill a full-time academic teaching position. The faculty member would provide didactic and/or clinical instruction for undergraduate and graduate nursing students pertaining to the women’s and maternal health issues. In addition to teaching, the position includes opportunities for clinical practice and research/scholarship activities. Faculty appointment and salary are commensurate with the level of advanced practice clinical practice, teaching, and scholarship experience of the candidate.
The ideal candidate will possess knowledge or experience teaching women’s health and/or maternal health curricula with the application of innovative classroom delivery, simulation methodologies and scholarship application. The candidate should have a demonstrated commitment to the professional development of nursing students, clinical practice, and professional service.Required Education and Experience
Earned doctorate in nursing (PhD or DNP), two years of teaching and mentoring of NP students; unencumbered nursing licensure; National Certification as Women’s Health NP (WHNP) or Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) and two years of direct practice as an APRN with Prescriptive Authority or eligibility in SC. Excellent written and oral communication skills, team building, self-motivation, and innovation in educational program offerings are expected. Basic Life Support (BLS) documentation is required.Preferred Qualifications
