Position Summary

Come join the NYU School of Law’s fabulous Public Interest Law Center’s team!  We are searching for a part-time Career Counselor (three full days per week) who will:

  • Provide intensive career counseling and career information to J.D. and LL.M. students and alumni, with a particular focus on students interested in civil legal services and those applying for post-graduate project fellowships.
  • Develop and implement career development programs.
  • Administer several postgraduate fellowship programs.
  • Author and edit a variety of publications, including job search resource guides.
  • Plan and implement outreach and communication activities with alumni and public service organizations.
Qualifications

Required Education:J.D. Degree.Required Experience:3 years of relevant public interest legal experience.Preferred Experience:Experience with public interest fellowships, student advising, law school program administration, and program development.Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Excellent presentation, networking, and written communication skills. Ability to interact with a diverse population. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills. Ability to develop, implement and interpret programs and policies, and communicate information to individuals at all levels. Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.
