The Annual Giving Officer will work closely with the Associate Director of Annual Giving to meet the goals and objectives of the Annual Giving team through direct marketing, crowdfunding campaigns, stewardship initiatives, volunteer management, and data analysis. In collaboration with the Annual Giving team, the Annual Giving Officer will actively participate in the creation and execution of innovative fundraising and engagement strategies.

Appeals & Solicitations
With the Associate Director of Annual Giving, develop and execute the Annual Fund solicitation plan including direct mail, email, and other channels: devise strategy, draft copy, prepare and send emails, collaborate with internal and external partners as needed, evaluate progress etc.

Crowdfunding Campaigns
Assist with the development and execution of all Annual Giving crowdfunding campaigns including overall strategy, communications, and volunteer management; maintain GiveCampus crowdfunding platform; manage crowdfunding process for on-campus partners: oversee application process, train users, and troubleshoot issues on GiveCampus

Data & Reporting
Prepare fundraising and donor reports using Raiser's Edge, Excel, and PowerPoint; assist with data analysis; input and maintain Annual Giving data in Raiser's Edge

Reunion Fundraising & Volunteer Management
Collaborate with members of the Alumni Engagement team in creating and implementing a reunion giving program targeting landmark reunion classes including recruiting and managing volunteers, setting goals, and creating materials

Stewardship
Collaborate with members of the Donor Relations team in the execution of ongoing stewardship activities; assist with the creation and implementation of new initiatives

Administration
Field Annual Giving inquiries from alumni and donors; work with members of the Advancement Services team to resolve online giving and gift processing issues; process invoices and liaise with Finance staff as needed

Other Departmental Activities
As needed, participate in Institutional Advancement activities and events, such as staffing Alumni Weekend or preparing materials for Alumni Board meetings


Qualifications:
  • 2-4 years of directly related experience (development, nonprofit, marketing, public relations, or similar professional work experience)
  • Demonstrated experience with data analysis
  • Demonstrated experience writing for an external audience
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Knowledge of direct response fundraising/marketing
  • Excellent attention to detail and follow-through
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to think strategically and creatively
  • Ability to build relationships internally and externally
  • Demonstrated experience with donor management software or other CRM software
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Understanding of fundraising best practices and emerging trends highly preferred
  • Direct experience in higher education fundraising and annual giving solicitation marketing preferred
  • Direct experience with writing donor communications such as appeals, acknowledgement letters, and other written stewardship preferred
  • Experience with educational crowdfunding campaigns desirable
