To support faculty initiatives and the College’s core values through the integration of technology with pedagogy, assessment and research goals. Work with faculty and staff to develop and maintain electronic and online instructional materials, design online courses, support instructional technology, and collaborate with campus entities to implement national standards in distance learning. Assist with implementation of instructional material through the use of mobile technology. The position will develop and deliver effective training sessions for faculty, assist with course management system functions, the use of smart classroom technologies, videoconferencing systems, and other end user issues. Evaluate and review potential software, equipment, and technology for purchase. The individual will stay abreast of technology trends and uses in education to collaborate with faculty, and provide one-on-one, large and small group support. The individual will typically work normal hours, but may be required to work extended hours to meet deadlines imposed by special projects and perform other administrative duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree.

Two years’ experience in the field.

Preferred Qualifications

A Master’s degree in Curriculum Design, Instructional Technology or a related area is preferred.

Compliance Requirements

Position Requires completion of VSU’s Annual Compliance Training course (such as State Business Transactions, Drug Free Workplace, Anti-Harassment Policy, Introduction to Information Security, Workers Compensation, Motor Vehicle Policy, USG Ethics Policy, Conflict of Interest/ Outside Activities Policy, Leave Procedures for Faculty and Staff, Georgia Open Records Act, Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), and Contracts 101. Supervisory positions require training in FMLA and Worker’s Compensation.

Position Requires a Criminal Background Check.

Job Duty

Collaborates with campus entities, supports and instructs faculty in the basic use of technology to support teaching, learning, and research goals. Provide professional development and other training sessions (1:1, small group, and large group), and help faculty incorporate a variety of technologies into their educational programs. Serve as admin for a number of various CONHS databases, web software, and clinical tracking systems. Assist faculty with converting face to face lectures, materials, and other in class learning strategies to an online format. Create online surveys and manage data for CONHS faculty/administration. Create promotional and registration materials for CONHS events, as well as coordinating technical aspects for the events. Produce CONHS training and promotional media.

Job Duty

Maintain website, manage specific projects from beginning to end, create online video tutorials for the Learning Management System and other software, participate in Faculty Technology Conferences, etc. Assist with the configuration, delivery, and evaluation of simulation experiences in the simulation lab.
