The Senior Video Production Specialist is a creative, imaginative leader and storyteller who can develop video projects with our content development team to help elevate Bucknell University’s brand through our digital media platforms. Reporting to the Associate Director of Digital & Social Media, the Senior Video Production Specialist will implement, assess and evolve the University’s video strategy, and work as part of a highly collaborative team to conceptualize, create and deploy video to enhance digital content, as well as targeted social media content.

In addition to leading video strategy and content creation, the Senior Video Production Specialist is responsible for managing the video team, including student video creators. The person in this position has extensive knowledge of the digital landscape and can create and produce highly engaging and professional video content across multiple channels and platforms. This role requires flexibility, building collaboration across marketing, brand and subject matter experts, and the ability to give and take constructive criticism with professionalism and openness.

Job Duties:
● Define and implement best production practices, and synchronize and standardize workflows, tools and communication among multiple teams at Bucknell to ensure the highest quality and highest production efficiency.
● Manage the operations of the video team. Coordinate and execute video projects from concept to completion, including but not limited to research, story development, location/talent scouting and post-production editing. Set deadlines for the video team, and coordinate and adjust workload to ensure deadlines are met.
● Provide creative consulting and develop strong collaborative partnerships throughout the University to support efficient creation and delivery of video content, and effectively interact with executive-level leadership.
● Serve as the main point of contact for video projects to campus partners.
● Plan, storyboard, shoot and edit videos for publication on a variety of channels, from website to social media to e-newsletters to emails, and to show at large University events.
● Produce special projects, such as live streaming events that are broadcast on social media.
● Contribute to and deliver against brand/channel content calendars; coordinate video creators and deadlines to support content creation and publishing.
● Supervise, support and provide guidance to video staff, including student employees. Carry out supervisor responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Includes interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning assigning and directing work; appraising performance and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
● Create, organize and maintain all video inventory files (raw, edited, final) in accordance with University archiving protocols and standards.
● Manage library of video content. Provide videos to team and campus partners as well as local and national media partners as necessary.
● Contribute to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds.

Minimum Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Film, Video Production and at least four years’ professional experience shooting and editing video, and operating sound, lighting and editing equipment including Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Audition, Photoshop, Illustrator and Motion OR eight years of experience in lieu of educational requirement
● Advanced knowledge of current post-production techniques, along with editing skills
● Demonstrated technical production skills and project management capability in order to guide the video production process from concept through final delivery
● Experience in file compression and graphics manipulation
● Demonstrated ability to tell compelling stories and influence behavior/decision making through video
● Understanding of emerging technologies in video production
● At least 2 years of experience successfully organizing and leading large complex projects or demonstrated ability to guide, lead, and develop employees
● Demonstrated ability to plan and perform video post-production tasks including reviewing footage, making editorial decisions, video transcoding, transcribing, rough cuts, audio adjustment and color correction
● Experience in creating video for strategic marketing purposes to tell the story of a brand to targeted consumers
● Ability to meet tight deadlines, creatively solve problems and manage multiple projects
● Evidence of strong verbal and written communication skills
● Excellent organizational ability and attention to detail
● Valid and current driver’s license

Other requirements:
● Willing to work a varied scheduled that may include travel, and some nights and weekends

Preferred Qualifications:
● Experience with social media/marketing campaign development and execution
● Experience producing virtual and augmented reality projects
● Familiar working in social platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat and Instagram
● Experience with illustration, 3D motion graphics, graphic design, animation
● Hold a Remote Pilot Certificate and experience in drone video filming
● Experience in 360 photo and video filming and editing
● Proficiency in writing scripts for brand awareness, training scenario and story-based videos

Physical Demands:
● Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds of production equipment
