DescriptionAssists with or designs, writes, tests, debugs, and maintains software applications with mission-critical or enterprise-wide impact, ensuring that the applications meet technical and functional requirements. Designs and develops efficient, effective applications through optimal use of components, including reusable components and application frameworks. Ensures that applications comply with regulatory requirements and are consistent with current and planned infrastructure and data environments. Provides technical guidance in designing, coding, testing, debugging, and maintaining programs, including guidance to less experienced co-workers. Follows good coding standards. Properly documents project details, requirements, and procedures needed to produce a working and easily maintainable code base. Works with team members to review code and discuss design plan. Translates and interprets functional requirements, and assists with requirements analyses. Implements project management tasks for small projects.

QualificationsBachelor’s degree and two years of experience; competency in JavaScript; experience with standard and emerging JavaScript toolsets such as Node.js, Webpack, and React; experience using Git source control; experience working with various database systems such as MS SQL Server or Oracle and Web programming experience required.

Preferred

•Familiarity with Web mapping APIs (Google, Esri, Leaflet, etc.).
•Experience with mobile development.
•Competency in Windows Operating System. Familiarity with other OSs.
•Programmers with twelve semester hours in computer science, geospatial, or other related courses. from an accredited college or university.
•Degree in Computer Science, Geospatial, Engineering, or a related field.

Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience.
