General Summary This position provides varying levels of responsibility and assistance in non-academic aspects of the INTO ISU student experience, including but not limited to housing and dining, health and wellness, transportation, activities/programming, arrival, orientation and transition programs and services, student success initiatives and partnerships with academic programs and other university resources, and communication with parents, families, sponsors, and educational agents.

This is a new position in the growing and dynamic INTO Illinois State University Center. Duties and scope may change as the INTO ISU center and this role evolves. We expect the candidate to help build the organization with a focus on achieving operational excellence.

Since 2006, INTO has launched partnerships to internationalize universities in the US, UK and Asia, including Oregon State University, University of South Florida, Colorado State University, Marshall University, George Mason University, Drew University, Saint Louis University, The University of Alabama at Birmingham, Washington State University, Illinois State University, Suffolk, and Hofstra University. 

This position is part of a joint venture between Illinois State University and INTO. It is not an Illinois State University position and is not an offer of employment with the state of Illinois. Required Qualifications 1.Bachelor's degree and one or more years' professional work experience in a leadership role or equivalent combination of education and experience;
2.Student services experience in higher education
3.Ability to plan strategically, develop, and implement programs and activities for students;
4.Experience with building and managing relationships with peers, senior managers, key stakeholders, and students from a range of cultural backgrounds;
5.Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate a team in a fast-paced dynamic environment;
6.Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication, and organizational skills;
7.Ability to help others from diverse cultures who have various levels of English proficiency;
8.Demonstrated competent I.T. Skills;
9.Demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity;
10.Applicant must pass a background check and have the ability to be legally employed in the US;
11.Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, work under pressure and, when necessary, with minimal resources;
12.Ability to work with individuals from various cultural backgrounds;
13.Excellent customer service and presentation skills;
14.Ability to compose letters and other informational materials in a grammatically correct style;
15.Ability to work with minimal supervision;
16.Ability to multi-task and remain calm under pressure;
17.Willing to be on-call outside of normal business hours;
18.Able to manage relationships with peers, senior managers, academic stakeholders, parents and students from a wide range of backgrounds;
19.Able to focus on details and manage time wisely;
20.Strong analytical and decision making skills.
Desired Qualifications: 1.Advanced degree in international education, student affairs, higher education or related field, or equivalent experience;
2.One-year supervisory experience;
3.Previous work with international student;
4.Understanding of issues relevant to international students;
5.Overseas living experience and/or proficiency in language other than English.

Hiring Rate/Range $40,000 - $47,000 per year
