DESCRIPTION

Provides computer technical expertise, project management, technical guidance and direction in the implementation and operation of computer systems; used for financial, clinical and/or administrative systems. Organizes and schedules a variety of major and/or complex computer system tasks, including programming, in a timely and proficient manner and in compliance with departmental and UCSD Health policies and procedures. Individual must maintain a good working relationship with co-workers and other staff and perform other duties as assigned or defined in the performance evaluation in compliance with UCSD Health policies and procedures.

Assist with the day-to-day data operations including nightly scheduled jobs, reducing data redundancy, and resolving data problems, while increasing the security and accessibility of data to authorized users. Employ solid understanding of relational database concepts and practices including building schema, writing SQL queries and stored procedures. Contribute to applications supporting business practices using programming skills and knowledge of Microsoft SQL, Oracle and/or Microsoft programming languages (e.g. ASPX .net, VB).

Works in a team environment to improve extraction, transformation and loading of local and campus source data into local repositories. Creates and maintains reports from financial data and other source data associated with administrative business processes. Incumbent will need strong project managements skills as they will be required to manage new implementations or upgrades to existing applications. They will need to have strong analytical skills in regards to troubleshooting and developing integrated test plans. Incumbent will be part of our on-call rotation, which provides 7/24 problem management and resolution for all supported web applications.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.

  • Five or more years of relevant experience (system analysis / administration experience).

  • Advanced knowledge of computer security tools, best practices and policies including demonstrated experience securing server-based software.

  • Demonstrated skill at analyzing and preventing security incidents of high complexity.

  • Strong security skills for protecting the operating system, software, data and hardware.

  • Experience and proven success providing a variety of IT services such as database administration, application programming, IT project management, systems administration, systems and process analysis, security, solution development and maintenance, business technical support or a combination of these and/or other IT functions.

  • Must have experience in data integration and the specification of data services.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience in a healthcare environment.

  • Working experience using one or more of each of the following:

    • Applications: Oracle HCM/PeopleSoft, Oracle FIS, 3M/360, Onbase, CorePoint.
    • Databases: Microsoft SQL, Oracle
    • Operating Systems: Windows Server 2012+, Linux REHL 7.6+
