College of Health Tenure Track Positions at the Assistant Professor Level Department: College of Health Academic Category&Field of Expertise: Healthcare: Other Department / Position Website - https://www1.lehigh.edu/health Position Description - The new College of Health at Lehigh University invites applications for multiple tenure-track positions at the Assistant Professor level with responsibilities to advance education, research and service in population health--including epidemiology, biostatistics, community health, health innovation and technology, global health, social and behavioral health sciences, and health policy and management.

The mission of the College of Health (COH) at Lehigh University is to understand, preserve, and improve the health and well-being of populations and communities through excellence and innovation in education, research, and service. The College will prepare the next generation of innovative and diverse scientists and leaders in population health through cutting edge and innovative course work, distance learning, and experiential learning opportunities.

The COH seeks to recruit a diverse group of professionals (from the academic, public, or private sectors) whose work contributes vitally to improve population health. Candidates must possess an earned doctorate in the fields of population, public health or health science field (including degrees in epidemiology, biostatistics, community health, health policy and management, health economics, or the social sciences (with a focus on health). The successful faculty candidate(s) will be expected to contribute to the research, educational, and service missions of the COH and the broader University. Candidates are expected to have and maintain strong records of high-quality scholarship and to build active, externally-funded programs of research in population health. High quality scholarship includes: evidence of external grant funding; demonstration of sustained success as a principal investigator or co-principal investigator; a strong record of peer-reviewed publications in top tiered journals; participation in national conference proceedings; and/or the development of patents or intellectual property. They will also contribute to teaching and mentoring in the COH, including courses and other modes of instruction for undergraduate and graduate students.

The Health, Science, and Technology (HST) Building is Lehigh University’s newest, state-of-the-art research facility and administrative home for the COH, slated for completion in 2021. The innovative, flexible, and sustainably-designed facility will advance Lehigh University’s academic research endeavors. The primary goals of the building are to encourage an interdisciplinary culture via maximized transparency and accountability; develop functional neighborhoods that create a model of intensity and productivity; engage the campus community by bringing the public into the building; and become the home for the College of Health.

The facility’s five floors will each provide environments that encourage interdisciplinary collaboration between occupants throughout the building. Flexible, open laboratories accommodate immediate expansion & contraction of research groups with minimal disruption. The open lab zones are comprising wet, damp, and dry labs.

The campus also has 180 acres of playing fields and half of the campus is preserved as open space.
