SCAD Savannah seeks a camera prep technician to ensure the efficiency and maintenance of cameras and film equipment within the university’s film and television department.

In this role, you’ll help assemble and test camera packages for faculty, staff and students at Hamilton Hall or Savannah Film Studios. The camera prep technician will complete check-in and checkout of cameras, which includes assessing the camera sensor, lenses and cables for damage or other issues. The technician ensures that each camera package is clean, complete and correct, and informs the supervisor of missing or damaged items to address any potential concerns.

The technician will also assist at university events and venues, which may require camera prep, repair and consultation. You should be comfortable reading service manuals and testing equipment to troubleshoot a wide assortment of video equipment, down to the component level. The technician should also be eager to research the latest digital camera technology and will work with staff to develop new ideas to modify and redesign systems to improve cameras and technology.

The ideal candidate has working experience and knowledge of digital cameras, including the ARRI Alexa, Canon C300, Canon 5D/7D, Panasonic P2, RED Epic, RED Gemini, Sony F55 and their accessories. Excellent customer service skills and attention to detail are essential to this role, as are strong multitasking skills and the ability to work well under pressure.

- Associate degree in electronics; Bachelor’s degree in electronics or a related field preferred
