Position SummaryExciting opportunity in the Office of the Provost to support academic innovation and excellence across the University. Reporting to the Associate Vice Provost, the incumbent is responsible for 1.) managing NYU compliance with New York State’s Board of Education regulations for a demanding portfolio of programs and degrees conferred by NYU in New York State, and 2.) maintaining and growing a university-wide program-level academic assessment system to comply with assessment standards for Middle States accreditation. This position manages and ensures completion of all steps in the academic program review process, including reviewing detailed proposals, providing feedback to senior administrators, submitting applications to New York State on behalf of NYU schools that have secured all required internal approvals, and updating digital systems and files for appropriate data tracking and record keeping. Perfect role for a detail-oriented leader who can constantly prioritize and simultaneously manage multiple demanding projects; passionate about becoming a subject expert in state policy requirements and translating this knowledge in an accessible manner to the NYU community; thrives working independently; strong service-orientation, dedicated to excellent oral and written communication to support the academic community. Provides significant consultation and guidance to senior administrators (e.g. Associate Deans) overseeing academic affairs at each of NYU’s 17 undergraduate, graduate, and professional schools, serving as a subject expert in academic program review and academic assessment. Plays a key leadership role in supporting the academic mission of the university by facilitating accurate, streamlined, and comprehensive processes for program review and academic assessment, ensuring new programs and substantive changes to existing programs are processed in a timely manner. Using established software systems (i.e., Courseleaf), maintains accurate and updated data and digital files to support University mission. Conducts data analyses, data aggregation, and data visualization and report generation to support decision making for University leadership. Provides guidance and support, as needed, to academic liaisons through presentations, training materials, meetings, and consultations.Qualifications

Required Education:Master's Degree in fields related to higher education, social sciences, policy, management, or others with appropriate experience and skills.Preferred Education:Doctoral Degree in fields related to higher education, social sciences, policy, management, or others with appropriate experience and skills.Required Experience:5+ years experience implementing and supporting strategic processes and systems to support regulatory requirements within a large, complex organization. or established academic and organizational record evidencing ability to master and disseminate subject expertise in a complicated policy arena.Preferred Experience:3+ years experience with responsibility for managing state-level academic authorization and registration within a higher education institution. and 3+ years experience supporting or managing academic assessment within a higher education institution.Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Demonstrated subject expertise in both state-level academic regulatory requirements and regional-level academic assessment standards (or keen interest to master new knowledge in these areas). Passionate about leveraging data, systems, communication and tools in a higher education setting to further the academic mission of the University. Ability to lead, juggle, track, and progress multiple, ongoing, complex projects to meet established deadlines. Sound judgment and sensitivity when exposed to confidential and proprietary information. Excellent oral and written communication skills, with strong service orientation and comfort with significant ongoing interaction and collaboration with executives and senior leaders. Excellent skills in translating complicated policy jargon into accessible, actionable items tailored to the audience. Ability to independently juggle large portfolio of program proposals and prioritize deadlines in fast paced environment. Work collaboratively with both executives and staff at all levels of the organization. Excellent leadership, problem solving, and analytical skills. Excellent technological and analytical skills, including an advanced knowledge of Excel, Google Applications, database management, data visualizations, reporting, and information management. Working knowledge of statistics. Flexibility in work style, demonstrated ability to adapt successfully to changing work environment and needs.
