Lecturer Pool - History of Art Department
The Department of History of Art at UC Berkeley invites applications for a pool of qualified temporary non-tenure track Lecturer positions to teach courses in History of Art. These courses include, but are not limited to, courses in Contemporary Art, Greek and Roman Art and Architecture, European Art, American Art, Asian Art and the art of other Non-Western regions, Reading and Composition and Digital Humanities.

Screening of applicants is ongoing and will continue as needed. The number of positions varies from semester to semester, depending upon the needs of the Department. Positions may range from 33% to 100% time.

General Duties: In addition to teaching responsibilities, general duties include holding office hours, assigning grades, advising students, preparing course materials (e.g., syllabus), and interacting with students outside of class time via email and campus web-based course resources.

Basic Qualifications (required at time of application): PhD (or equivalent international degree) or enrolled in a PhD (or equivalent international degree) program

Additional Qualifications (required by start date): Completed Ph.D. (or equivalent international degree) by start date. For those who are not US citizens or permanent residents, a legal permit that allows work in the United States (such as a US visa that allows employment) is required by the start date of the position. The department is unable to provide a visa/work permit.

Preferred Qualifications (by start date): Relevant college-level teaching experience preferred.

Salary:
Minimum annual full-time salary rate of $56,381. Salary to be commensurate with experience. Some credit given to prior college-level teaching experience (not including graduate student or summer session teaching).
