Departmental Overview
The Coleman Fung Institute for Engineering Leadership was launched in January 2010 and offers programs that combine coursework and experience in technology innovation, communications and leadership. The Master of Engineering program has grown from an initial enrollment of 80 students to over 400 students in the program's first seven years. This position will help provide top quality comprehensive career development and career management to this growing enrollment of Master of Engineering students and the alumni population.

The position provides career coaching and program support to the Master of Engineering students. counseling. This person might also work with alumni and/or potential employers.

Responsibilities
60% Career Coaching: Coaches Master of Engineering students on the recruitment process, and the standards and trends specific to the student's field of study; provide cover letter and resume reviews; job search consultation and interview prep. Helps clients identify their interests, values, skills, and personalities, and understand how these factors relate to career satisfaction and choices. Can advise on both internship programs and full-time employment. Share knowledge, resources and networking opportunities pertaining to employers and industries interested in hiring MEng students, along with other job search materials.

20% Career Programming: Organize unique and customized career programming for the Master of Engineering population - both in person and online events.

10% Database Management: Assist with job data collection, analysis, and ongoing data input into SalesForce database system.

10% External Relations: Help maintain, enhance and develop new relationships with corporations and other organizations to recruit MEng students.

Required Qualifications
**************************This is a part-time(75%), eight-month contract position*********************

*Advanced knowledge of career development theories, coaching, career decision making, learning styles, and job search techniques.
*Knowledge of needs assessment theory, processes, and practice, workshop and program design.
*Knowledge of technology industry job market and recruiting trends.
*Fluent with LinkedIn and other social media tools.
*Highly effective skills in judgment and decision-making, problem solving, identifying metrics and the actions to improve systems.
*Demonstrated ability and strong interpersonal skills to work in a multicultural environment with individuals and groups with a wide array of backgrounds, identities, life experiences, personality types and communication styles.
*Ability to use data to create reports and online resources.
*Experience organizing events.
*Experience in independently managing projects through to completion with strong attention to detail and prioritizing tasks.

Preferred Qualifications
*Advanced degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.

*The salary range designated for this position: $70,000 - $80,000 (full-time equivalent); however, starting salary will be commensurate with experience.

*This is a part-time, eight-month contract position. Contract positions may be extended based on operational demand. Contract positions are eligible to participate in the health and welfare programs offered by UC Berkeley.
