Kimbel Library at Coastal Carolina University welcomes applications for Head of Collections & Resource Management. Reporting to the University Librarian, this position will provide leadership and direction in the development, management, and maintenance of library collections, including monographs and serials, media, and electronic resources. This position establishes and maintains online access to licensed and open access electronic resources, works closely with vendors and library colleagues to provide quality control of e-resources links and knowledge bases, and ensures consistent access to library electronic holdings across multiple discovery and access platforms. The Head manages collections budgets, working with liaison librarians regarding subject-specific resource acquisition, deselection, and licensing. This position works collaboratively with library administration, other units within the library, and departments across campus to provide resources and learning experiences that are user-centered, sustainable, and responsible. This a tenure-track position, with rank at a commensurate level.

Required: An MLS or equivalent from an ALA accredited institution is required. Candidates must have five years’ experience in academic libraries including supervisory experience and a track record of increasing responsibility. Other required qualifications include: demonstrated experience with collection development and the electronic resources lifecycle; fluency with issues related to access and discovery of electronic products; and a strong budgeting background. Ability and interest in fulfilling tenure and promotion requirements in the areas of job performance, scholarship, service, and professional development. Preferred: Demonstrated experience assessing collections and electronic resources; demonstrated experience managing PDA/DDA/EBA acquisition models; Experience working with Ex-Libris Alma and Primo; A proven track record of innovation.
