Valdosta State University invites applicants to apply for an Part Time position.
Hiring occurs on an as needed, limited-term basis. Successful candidates may teach on-campus or electronically; have the ability to work with a diverse population of students and staff; and have a commitment to cultural diversity and educational equity.
Screening of candidates begins immediately.
Part Time faculty must perform duties associated with teaching at the post-secondary level. These include (but are not limited to): preparing lectures and their class instructional materials; preparing and leading class discussion; providing prompt responses to student questions and inquiries as well as prompt and appropriate feedback on tests, quizzes, and assignments; and following VSU policies and procedures related to teaching.

Required Qualifications

Must have earned a graduate degree from a regionally accredited university with at least 18 graduate credit hours in a related field, or have earned a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field with significant professional experience.
Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and learning.
Commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Preferred Qualifications

Teaching experience at the college level, particularly in online formats.

Physical Requirements

Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with reasonable accommodation.

Position Requires completion of VSU’s Annual Compliance Training course (such as State Business Transactions, Drug Free Workplace, Anti-Harassment Policy, Introduction to Information Security, Workers Compensation, Motor Vehicle Policy, USG Ethics Policy, Conflict of Interest/ Outside Activities Policy, Leave Procedures for Faculty and Staff, Georgia Open Records Act, Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), and Contracts 101. Supervisory positions require training in FMLA and Worker’s Compensation.

Position Requires a Criminal Background Check.

Position May Require Credit Check (if using P-Card, working with Cash, etc.).

Essential Duties of the Position

The duties below reflect 90% of the employee's responsibilities. There is an additional 10% reserved for professional development and any other duties that may be assigned.
