The Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry is seeking to hire a tenure-track assistant professor in Organic Chemistry beginning September 2020. A Ph.D. in organic chemistry or a closely related field is required and postdoctoral research experience is expected.

Candidates should demonstrate the ability to teach effectively at the undergraduate and graduate levels and, guide an active scholarly research program involving both undergraduate and graduate students. The focus of candidates’ research specialization is open to all areas of organic chemistry, but those with experience in materials or organometallic chemistry are especially encouraged to apply. Successful candidates will be expected to teach graduate and undergraduate courses in organic chemistry and may be asked to teach and/or develop other upper-level chemistry courses within their area of expertise. The successful candidate is also expected to develop and maintain independent externally funded and sustainable research program and collaborate, as needed, with multi-disciplinary groups of faculty both within and outside the department.
