Savannah State University invites qualified applicants for Assistant Professor in anatomy and physiology in the Department of Biology. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses associated with the Bachelor of Science in Biology; developing and teaching advanced-level courses; and contributing to interdisciplinary offerings. This position serves as mentor for undergraduate students and sustains a vibrant research program that actively engages undergraduate students. The successful applicant will also participate in the growth and advancement of programs in Biology, including the development of a Master’s degree program in Biology; undergraduate advisement required. May be directed to perform job related tasks other than those specifically delineated in this description. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience; excellent benefits.

Minimum Qualifications

An earned Ph.D. in Biology or a field complementary to the Biology program required; preference given to applicants with education and experience in anatomy and physiology; corresponding post-doctoral experience in interdisciplinary dimensions of contemporary Biology preferred. The candidate should have at least three (3) years of teaching experience at the undergraduate level as well as evidence of grant potential and scholarly activity. A satisfactory background check is required.
