Financial Aid Loan Officer Job Number Full/Part Time Schedule Salary 201906243501 Full Time 8AM - 5PM $50,000 - $98,600 Position Information The Financial Aid Loan Officer participates with other Financial Aid Counselors, the Assistant Director and Associate Director in the ongoing development and enhancement of the UCR Financial Aid Office processing system (Banner); presents financial aid information to both on- and off-campus students, prospective students and their families; actively contributes to discussions and recommends change when appropriate to better meet the needs to the populations served; uses an understanding of the special needs and problems experienced by students from disadvantaged backgrounds and address these needs by offering supportive guidance, options and when appropriate, financial assistance. Provides guidance on supplementary forms and explanations needed to meet individual circumstances; composes correspondence to students and other clients relative to aid eligibility and office policy and procedures; performs special assignments and other duties as assigned by the Director of Financial Aid, Associate Director, or Assistant Director. A cover letter is required. Please note: The salary offer will be commensurate with experience and education within the budgeted range of $48,800-$72,500 Education Education Requirements Degree Requirement Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. Special Conditions Special Condition Requirement Valid Drivers License will be required if operating a personal or university vehicle for university related business. Required Valid Drivers License must comply with the California Department of Motor Vehicle requirements. Required
Minimum Requirements Strong proficiency with standard office software as well as internet and email applications. Working knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs.

Working knowledge of University policies, processes, and procedures.
Organizational skills and ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
Strong ability to assess processes and implement improvements. Thorough interpersonal skills.

Ability to calculate financial aid with attention to detail and accuracy.
Experience using complex databases. Ability to define specifications for database programming.
Working knowledge of policies, regulations, and practices for awarding financial aid; specialized knowledge of particular programs.
Working knowledge of advising and counseling techniques.
Ability to interpret policies and develop procedures to ensure compliance.
Skill in making oral and written presentations through various media formats to diverse audiences.
Preferred Qualifications Working knowledge of policies, regulations, and practices for awarding financial aid. Specialized knowledge of particular programs to include various Loan Programs.

Ability to evaluate campus impact from changing Federal and State regulations and communicate/disseminate information to appropriate University departments and staff.

Working knowledge of applicable regulations and best practices relating to administering Loan Programs.

Ability to work with people from diverse cultures. Utilizes excellent constituent service skills with all interactions.

Working knowledge of common University- specific computer application programs and productivity software.(i.e Ellucian Banner).
