Schoen and his research team to assist with the analysis and dissemination of results from multiple large-scale multi-site and cluster-randomized trials. These trials study the impact of professional development programs for teachers of mathematics and statistics.

While some of the work will involve relatively straightforward applications of statistical techniques, such as multilevel models and/or structural equation models, there are is also substantial opportunity to apply cutting-edge techniques in areas such as: causal generalization, mediation modeling, principal stratification, and the analysis of fidelity of implementation data.
Motivated individuals will also have opportunities to pursue their own methodological research using data housed at LSI.Qualifications PhD in research methodology, quantitative psychology, statistics, or related area

Expertise in multilevel models as applied to data from educational experiments

Evidence of scholarly productivity (or of the potential to achieve such productivity) in the form of publications in refereed journals and/or research reports

Strong communication and collaboration skillsPreferred Familiarity with What Works Clearinghouse guidelines

Experience with data management for large-scale studies

Expertise with statistical software packages such as R, Mplus, SAS, SPSS, and/or Stata.

Experience in at least one of the following areas: causal generalization, mediation models, surrogate endpoints, principal stratification, psychometrics/measurement, fidelity of implementation measurement, direct observation instruments in educationOther Information This position is a 12-month, non-tenure track, grant-funded position. The position is appointed on a yearly basis with potential for renewal for multiple years. Continuation of this appointment is contingent upon the availability of funding, research needs, and satisfactory performance in the position. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.
