Qualifications

Job Summary:

The Section of Pediatric Nephrology at TheChildren's Hospital of Colorado is seeking a faculty member to provideinpatient, outpatient, and procedural services in our state of the art KidneyCenter. This position will include various levels of Clinical, Administrative,Research, and Educational responsibilities.


Examples of WorkPerformed:

•Provides medical patient care by interviewing,examining and treating of clinical patients in order to meet their medicalneeds. 

•Responsible for the diagnosis and treatment ofacute, chronic, and long-term healthcare issues.
•Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assesspatient's clinical problems and health care needs. 

•Records physical findings and formulates planand prognosis, based on patient's condition.
•Prescribes or recommends drugs or other forms of treatment such as physicaltherapy, inhalation therapy, or related therapeutic procedures. 

•Oversees mid-level medical staff as assigned aswell as nursing clinical staff.

•Orders studies, test and ancillary services. 

•Maintains legible, accurate, and confidentialmedical records. Documents all medical evaluations, diagnoses, procedures,treatment, outcomes, education, referrals, and consultations consistent withregulatory standards. 

•Consults with Medical Director and otherprofessionals on staff as needed regarding patient care, assessment, andeducation issues.
•Assists in the resolution of complaints,requests and inquiries from patients. 

•May refer patients to specialized healthresources for treatment. 

•Orders appropriate diagnostic screening testsaccording to protocol.


Minimum Qualifications:

•MD or DO degree
•Board Certified/Board Eligible in Pediatric Nephrology

•Current Colorado State Medical License and DEA certification; or ability to obtaina Colorado State Medical License and DEA certification before start date 

•2-3 years clinical experience in PediatricNephrology


PreferredQualifications:

•Clinical experience with complex kidney diseaseand renal replacement therapy
•Clinical experience in an academic setting
•Experience in precepting residents, learners and fellows in an outpatientclinical setting
•Experience in clinical trials research


Competencies:

•Ability to independently care for and managecomplex Pediatric Nephrology patients in an academic setting;
•High customer service skills, team-based patient care, and ability to meetproductivity targets;
•Care coordination, problem-solving, and teamwork and leadership engagement;
•Exemplary professionalism and interpersonal communication skills.


Conditions ofEmployment:

•Must successfully pass a 10-panel drug testthrough Children's Hospital Colorado
•Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal and sex-offenderbackground check
