Location: Berkeley, CA
Salary Range: $60,300 - $64,700
Start Date: Anticipated August 1, 2019
This is a 50% time, one-year term contract position, with the possibility of renewal for a second year.
Overview : The Berkeley Center for Law & Technology (BCLT) is seeking to hire a Legal Research Fellow for its Asia IP Project.
The Berkeley Center for Law & Technology (BCLT) is the focal point at the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law for teaching, research, and student activities on issues at the intersection of law and technology. BCLT's Asia IP Project conducts research and writing on issues related to the development of intellectual property (IP) law in China and other countries in Asia. Through workshops, conferences, and other events, it offers a forum for Asian and American companies, law firms, academics, trade associations, and government officials to learn about developments in IP and trade law on both sides of the Pacific, exchange views, and develop deeper knowledge on issues of common concern. The BCLT Asia IP Project works collaboratively with academic institutions and other partners in Asia.
The Asia IP Law Research Fellow will work with the director of the Asia IP Project and with Berkeley Law faculty to undertake directed and independent research on IP law issues with a focus on China, to plan conferences, workshops and other events on IP law developments in Asia, and to contribute to the development of the Asia IP Law Project at BCLT.
