Lecturer - Geography - Department of Geography
The Department of Geography at the University of California, Berkeley invites applications for a pool of qualified temporary instructors to teach a range of courses in both human geography and physical geography should an opening arise during Summer Session or the regular academic year. In addition to teaching responsibilities, general duties may include holding office hours, assigning grades, advising students, preparing course materials (e.g. syllabus), writing exams, and managing GSIs. The pool will remain in place for one calendar year; those interested in remaining in the pool beyond that time must reapply. Screening of applicants begins immediately and will continue as needed; some appointments may begin in the Fall 2019. The number of positions varies from semester to semester, depending on the needs of the department.

Basic qualifications: The minimum qualification required to be considered an applicant for this position is the completion of all advanced degree requirements (PhD or Masters degree) or international equivalent degree by the time of application.
Salary: to be commensurate with experience. Minimum annual full time salary rate is $54,738. Most appointments are made at 33 percent time per course.
